What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural form of health care, based on the fact that your body is designed to self-heal, self-regulate and is constantly striving for optimal health.

Our body does this through our nervous system, which we know is the most important system in the body because it is the only system that is completely protected by bone.

The nervous system is  made up of your brain, spinal cord, and nerves—which control every movement, sensation, emotion, and function in your body. Vital messages are constantly being sent between your brain and body, allowing you to adapt, heal, and respond to the demands of life. However, physical, chemical, and emotional stress can affect the way our spine functions which may disrupt this communication (in chiropractic we call this a vertebral subluxation).

Chiropractors specifically analyse & correct this dysfunction within your nervous system to allow your body to heal & function the way it is designed to.

Kia ora! I’m Jess, a Chiropractor, nervous system nerd, and I’m obsessed with helping people of all ages feel good from the inside out

I graduated from the world-renowned New Zealand College of Chiropractic and began my career in beautiful Central Otago, before heading overseas to Ireland in 2022. While abroad, I immersed myself in chiropractic seminars across Europe and the UK, learning from some of the best in the profession. I deepened my focus on prenatal and paediatric care, completing additional training to strengthen my hands-on skills and broaden my understanding of the incredible changes that happen during pregnancy, birth, and childhood.

These experiences shaped the way I practise today, with specific chiropractic care that supports the body’s natural ability to heal and thrive. I’ve seen first-hand just how powerful chiropractic can be, especially for mums, babies, and families navigating the many stages of life.

Now back home in Timaru, I feel incredibly grateful to serve the community I grew up in. I have a deep passion for caring for the whole family, from newborns to grandparents, because I truly believe that lifelong wellness begins with a healthy nervous system. It's far better to grow healthy children than to try and fix broken adults, and chiropractic care offers a proactive, holistic approach to health from day one.

When I’m not at the practice you’ll find me spending time with my loved ones, enjoying a decaf cappuccino or out for a walk and soaking up the sunshine.

Whether you're preparing for birth, raising a little one, or simply looking to feel your best, I’m here to support you and your family to grow, thrive, and live life to the fullest.
